Boosts

There are a variety of boosts you can get with an upgrader. They could include a variety of stats, in addition to many additional bonuses. These bonuses can be utilized on weapons, armor and trinkets. They can be used to enhance the abilities of an individual, or they can be used to add an aspect of variety to the build.

The World of Warcraft upgrade system allows players to upgrade their equipment by paying a currency fee to an upgrader for items. This system was first introduced in Mists of Pandaria, and continued with Warlords of Draenor. When an item is upgraded its base type changes. Upgrading a normal item will create an Exceptional item and upgrading an item that is Exceptional will result in an elite version of the base item. The item will retain all of its pre-upgrade statistics, but will also gain an additional benefit from its new base type. The bonus will be randomly chosen from the following categories: the chance to acquire a weapon with an increased damage range or an increased reload speed or a chance to gain an increased defense roll.

The amount of extras gained by upgrading is contingent on the number of upgrades done. Each upgrade boosts the extras in question by increments of 1 up to a maximum of 3. Additionally, each upgrade will also boost the stat that is used to determine the main one by 1.

Some upgrades also provide an additional random boost in addition to stat boosts. These boosts can be important and should be considered when deciding what items to upgrade. Certain of these boosts may only be used in certain designs (such the Whistan's Shield, which is for FB Sorcs) Some are useful to collectors.

Some items have an inherent boo that is less beneficial when upgraded, such as the Goldwrap which provides more slots for potion. These are often upp'd to increase the value of a perfect or near-perfect item.

Costs

Upgrades are accompanied by a few associated costs. The first is the cost to perform the upgrade. This price is contingent on the item's new ilvl and the number of perks it will gain and is often expensive. Upgrades to a higher level (such as Explorer to Champion or Veteran to Heroic) can be costly.

The second is the price of the materials required for an upgrade. These are typically Power Dices (dropped from monsters 21+), Minerals and Erons, or specific Mists Of Pandaria or Warlords of Draenor Quests. These materials can be found in the inventory of an Upgrade Vendor.

It takes time to upgrade an item. Depending on the size of the upgrade, it could take as long as 8 hours. The base stats of an upgraded item are calculated based on its new ilvl and other characteristics. This calculation determines new Armor Class bonuses, damage dice, as well as other important statistics. In some cases, the upgrade will grant additional benefits that can be chosen from a variety of perks.

Rarely, the new perks gained will cost more than one perk slot to acquire; in these situations, the upgrade will only replace the highest-cost perks. The upgrader can also make other modifications to the item, for example, changing the damage type of its weapon or eliminating an operational or unwieldy option. These modifications are based on an item's ilvl, and may require special materials, such as adamantine.

Success Rate
